NFPA Discussion Board Rules

The NFPA Discussion Board is a public forum and, while we encourage a free flow of information and ideas on the board, we ask that you follow a few basic rules. You have every right to disagree with your fellow NFPA members and explain your perspective, but all posts should be professional and courteous. By using or participating on the NFPA Discussion Board, you agree to the Rules of Conduct and the Terms of Service as stated below:

The Website Coordinator, NFPA Board, and NFPA Staff reserve the right to edit, remove or put on moderation queue any post at any time. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these points is up to the NFPA Board.

No Spam / Advertising:

Advertising of any commercial product or service on this forum is not permitted. Chain letters and pyramid schemes are similarly prohibited.

Flaming:

Any material which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse is strictly prohibited. NFPA members are asked to post in a way that is respectful of other members.

Offensive Content:

Material that is sexually or otherwise obscene, racist, or otherwise overtly discriminatory is not permitted on this forum. This includes user pictures. NFPA members will be warned or temporarily banned from posting.

Cross posting:

Posting a thread in more than one forum is not allowed. Please post it once in the correct discussion board.

Signature Size:

Signatures should not be more than five lines of text or 100px height. If images are used in a signature, they should be smaller than 15KB.

Copyright and ownership:

NFPA Discussion Board users agree not to post any material that is protected by copyright, trademark or other proprietary right without the express permission of the owner(s) of said copyright, trademark or other proprietary right.

Sherman Act and Federal Trade Commission Act:

NFPA Discussion Board users agree not to post any material that is prohibited by the Sherman Act and/or the Federal Trade Commission Act, including, but not limited to, contracts, combinations or conspiracies, fee structuring and/or price-fixing.

Policing:

The NFPA Discussion Board operates a three strike policy. NFPA Members will be warned a maximum of three times for any and all offenses in a three month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning a temporary ban will be put in place of between 1 to 7 days.

Arguing with other NFPA Members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.

NFPA Members who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the NFPA Website Coordinator, e.g. if warned by the NFPA Website Coordinator you should contact the NFPA Secretary. If they feel you were treated badly they remove a warning.
