The National Federation of Paralegal Associations, Inc. (NFPA) respects and protects the privacy of everyone who accesses our applications and systems. This Privacy Statement may be changed at any time and for any reason. We encourage you to review the Privacy Statement every time you visit our website.

Does NFPA request personal information?

Yes, we do. NFPA may ask for information in some instances. This may include your name, email address, physical address and other personal information when you fill out forms for NFPA goods and/or services. We may also ask for such information at other times, such as when you request information or enter areas with restricted access.

NFPA does disclose anonymous, aggregated user statistics (for example, 45% of our users are interested in specific areas of interest) in order to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers, and other third parties, and for other lawful purposes. From time to time, NFPA may rent lists derived from our National Paralegal Reporter magazine mailing list. Magazine subscribers may opt to have their information excluded from such list rentals by visiting the preferences page of our website. At no time do we give or rent email addresses to third parties.

Additionally, if you elect to contact members, partners, associates or make a purchase from our site, the information obtained during your visit to these areas, and the information that you give is provided to the person of record. These can be NFPA or third party companies. These companies have separate privacy and data collection practices. NFPA has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies.

How Does NFPA use my personal information?

NFPA and selected partners may send you information about our various products and services, or other products and services for which you have expressed an interest. You can remove yourself from any distribution list via a link in the communication. Only NFPA and its partners (or agents working on behalf of NFPA and its partners under confidentiality agreements) will send you these direct mailings.

Does NFPA use cookies and "IP Addresses"?

• We use cookies as part of the member authentication (“sign-in”) system.
• Cookies are also used for reporting aggregate site traffic information using Google Analytics.
• Advertising networks that serve ads onto the NFPA website may also use cookies.
• As forms are submitted, the IP address they are submitted by is recorded to assist in fraud detection and defend against automated attacks on our system.

What else should I know about my privacy?

Please keep in mind that whenever you voluntarily disclose personal information online - for example by submitting online forms, participating in discussion groups, or through email - your information can be collected and used by others. In short, if you post personal information online that is accessible to the public, you may receive unsolicited messages from other parties in return.
The password protected areas of this website can only be accessed with a valid password. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and confidential, and for notifying us if you believe that your password has been stolen or might otherwise be misused.
